Now if you follow the blog at all you know how obsessed I am with good abs. I have never done a workout that gives me a more feminine shape than this one. It is AMAZING! I strongly recommend you try this for a few days straight and I dare you to tell me you don’t see a difference.

  • This video is seriously great Shannon! Love the fact that it is a quick workout that you can do, and have no excuses for it! Hell females take 5 min. to talk to ourself about why the hell the guy you like hasn’t texted you back yet.. lol.. so I’m definitely going to start this today!!! I’ve come along way with this weight loss journey, but I’ve been slacking lately due to the holidays… I’l let you know how it turns out! :D

  • All right, Shannon, I think you’ve sold me on this. My usual exercise for the past year has been 15-30 mins of Dance Central most days and one trip to the gym a week to do weights on the highest level I can, but I think it’s time to step things up a little. Happy 2012!
PS. FYI, and maybe TMI: the squats may not work for ALL bathroom habits because some people will constipate themselves or strain if they don’t have their knees positioned higher than their hips (or close).

  • I am really going to try this workout regiment. I want to tone my body while I’m in the process of losing the extra pounds I’ve been carrying.
Thanks for the video Shannon :)

  • I did it 3 times today…only 2 minute break in between. The last one was a STRUGGLE! but I will keep it up. It really helps if you play music in between and pace yourself. Thank girl.

    • THREE FREAKIN TIMES IN A ROW?! I bow down…

      • I struggle on push ups but I keep going and try to move still lol but yeah 3 times. It feels good to hurt the next day. I want to keep this up. Its fun especially because I’m jamming to music as the clock goes so it gets easy.

  • Your readers might be interested in a variation of the exercise regime that you demonstrated called Tabata (you can look it up online) which can be done using the exercises in your video, but in the following format:

8 intervals of 20 seconds all-out intensity exercise followed by 10 seconds of rest.

As your conditioning improves and you feel like you want more of a workout, you can modify your routine. For example, I do 6 sets of 8 intervals and I’ll keep the same exercise for each set of intervals (eg. 8 sets of all burpees). That’s just me though. What you described is a great place for anyone to start and no one should feel pressure to do too much if they’re just starting out or don’t have that much time to exercise to begin with.

You can find Tabata timers online which signal the beginning and the end of each interval and time a rest period in between sets. I use this one: http://www.beach-fitness.com/tabata/ You can also find Tabata timer iPhone apps as well.

While what you describe is a great exercise regime for ladies, it will also work for guys (like me). Just substitute whatever exercises you want to do. Having said that, planking, high knees, mountain climbers and burpees are as good for the goose as they are for the gander.

  • OMG! My friend and I just did this workout…so amazing. Thanks for sharing :)

  • This workout seems really great and I’d love to try it. My only problem is, I want to stay in shape and have a regular exercise regimen, but I don’t want to lose weight. Last year I lost close to 20 pounds and believe me, it wasn’t pretty. I like being slim with curves, not slim stick bones (no offense to women who are very thin) but my fear of weight loss has been holding me back from regularly exercising. I’m afraid that if I work out 3 times a week the pounds will just fall off…

  • snap, this workout really does do the trick!
